Los Campesinos- There Are Listed Buildings
Twitter followers & jukey fans will know
that I love Los Camp. The first 2 LP's were immense but the new ones a
whole new level. Great songs with an 'every line counts' lyrical policy
that blows their peers out the water, their recent gig in Derby was a
belter. 'Listed...' is a great example of all these things. CS |

The xx -
Given hero worship by the NME for several months, The xx are slowly creeping
into the mainstream. This track is quite representative of the album.

The Pains of Being Pure At Heart - Come Saturday
I discovered the Pains of being.... via a
write up in an end of year NME poll. Pop hooks tick, jangle pop tick,
boy girl harmonies tick. More indie than a 1 sided flexi that you play
at 33rpm; the thing I like is that, in the context of what they do, they
just don't have ANY ropey tunes. If you like this one, get involved. CS |

The Drums–
Make You Mine
The Drums have been
name-dropped everywhere recently as the sound of 2010. Heavily
influenced by the C86 movement, the jury's still out as far as we're
concerned. Good tunes but are they great? SS

Oasis -
Falling Down (A Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble remix)
With Oasis no more, we thought a fitting tribute would be
this excerpt from a bizarre 20 minute remix of their final single. SS

Field MIce - Let's
Kiss and Make Up
The new jukebox has got a
definite C86 flavour to it, so we might as go the whole hog and have
this classic from Sarah records stalwarts the Field Mice. SS |
